- Collections: Contains various database views for your daily logs and habits. It utilizes a "Collections System" to organize entries.
- Randomizer: Responsible for dynamic content generation for prompts.
The main page layout includes your favorite journals at the top, the main menu, the daily prompt, journals logged for the day, and the sub-menu. All your journals are also located in their own dedicated section.
Let's delve deeper into the micro logs feature within the Day Scribe template and how they are organized based on the provided sources.
When you create a new daily entry in Day Scribe, it takes you to what is referred to as a "microl log". You can create as many daily logs (and thus micro logs) as you'd like for any chosen journal. Each of these micro logs serves as a fundamental unit for recording your daily experiences and reflections.
The "Collections System" allows you to organize your entries with various tags. Within the "tags" section of the "collections page," users can add any groups and subtags they want, along with customizable icons and colors. Therefore, while a micro log itself might not have a direct colored icon, the tags you apply to a micro log can have custom icons and colors, which would then be visually represented within the "Collections" views.
Timestamps are an inherent part of the logging process. The overview section displays the "first entry log time", indicating that each daily entry and its associated micro logs are timestamped upon creation.
The display of further details, when you are on the main daily entry page (identified by the presence of your micro logs and the top menu), you can access "view details". Within this "view details" section, if you have entered any descriptions for your micro logs, they will show up there. This provides a way to access more in-depth information related to your micro logs beyond the initial concise entry.
The "quick microlog buttons" are designed for faster entry of frequently used tags or logs. These buttons are customizable, allowing you to change, delete, or edit them. The inspiration for the groups and tags associated with these quick buttons came from the "Journalistic" app, and while the default options are provided, you can completely change them to suit your needs. When you use a quick button to log something, it essentially creates a micro log and automatically applies the tag(s) associated with that button.
The crucial aspect of organization lies in the "Collections" section of the menu. This section contains various database views for your daily logs and habits, organized by the "Collections System" using pre-defined and customizable tags. The "collections page" offers different views based on these tags, such as "insight" which displays all entries tagged with quotes, lessons, facts, etc.. Therefore, if you use a quick button that tags a micro log with "quote" (under the "insight" collection), that specific micro log will automatically be visible in the full view of all "insight" entries within the "Collections" section. Similarly, logs tagged with "lesson," "idea," or "note" via quick buttons will appear in their respective collection views within the "Collections" menu. This system allows you to easily access a consolidated view of all your entries related to specific themes or categories based on the tags applied, often facilitated by the quick logging buttons.
